Transmutation
Transmutation here refers to the transition of physical matter into a state of dematerialization — the transformation of the solid into the volatile and the visible into the immaterial. The objects are created as purely material constructions, with the starting point being the motif of a sphere as the basic unit of integrity, in which the surface undergoes controlled disintegration. It crumbles into fine particles and creates the impression of matter dissolving and disappearing. These works capture a fleeting moment when the physical metamorphoses into metaphysical planes of perception. Materials thus dematerialize (dematerialize) and in the process of transformation enter a different quality of existence. These works began to be created in 2017. The author repeatedly returns to the theme of dematerialization and further develops it through new approaches, materials and techniques that allow this process to be deepened and moved to other positions. At the same time, paintings are also created that develop this line of thinking in a different medium. The author works in parallel on multiple projects that influence each other and develop simultaneously over time.
